The Selection Series by Kiera Cass

This series is the best one I have read yet! I read the first three books my sophomore year of high school. I fell in love with them and I could definitely read them all again just to fall in love with them more. Recently, The Heir was released and I read it in a heartbeat. This collection is by far the best one I have read. My youngest brother has "gained a liking" for it as well- and he's into fantasy and some science fiction! That's saying something!
The Selection series is about an 18 year old girl named America Singer, and her named was chosen for Prince Maxon's Selection. America doesn't care if she wins the selection or not, but she does care about her family, her boyfriend Aspen, and she starts to care about Maxon as well. Throughout the first three books you see the development of America's relationship with Maxon, drama between the selected, heartbreak, friendships- especially with America and Marlee, and loyalty. That is all I will say about those books because I don't want to give anything away and I want all readers who are interested in romance (not the too gooey kind), adventure, suspense, and fiction to read them. The fourth book, The Heir,  obviously gives away the end of the third book. Maxon and the winner of the Selection, the new queen of IllĂ©a, have a daughter. ‎Eadlyn and her twin brother Ahren are next in line for the throne, but rules have changed. Since Eadlyn is the oldest child, she will be the next ruler of her country, regardless of her gender. Maxon and her mother need help to turn the attention of the country away from some troubling times, so now it is her turn for a selection. Eadlyn hates the idea of a selection and she is determined to make all the selected boys quit, or eliminate them all, so she could get out of the next three months single. For Eadlyn, the process and attitude of the selection is very different, and you learn more about some characters and the princess herself. The good news of this last book, is that it is NOT the last book!
Any time you have a rainy day, or nothing to do, go to your library and grab these good looking pieces of art and start reading! I guarantee you are missing out on this amazing series! Don't be afraid to let me know what you think of them when you're done. :)
